This is a part of the annual Bangla Sangeet Mela held at the Nandan complex as a celebration of and tribute to Indian music, musical artists, poets, lyricists across the country covering all genres of music, including film music. These three were chosen for a rare exhibition of photographs, posters and informative charts on their careers, together and individually, for an unusual exhibition organised by the Department of Information & Culture, government Of West Bengal, at the Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshashala recently. The three personalities have immortalised Hindi film music by giving it a new definition that keeps echoing across the mountains of time for all time to come. Three noted names one can never forget are Sachin Dev Burman, Kishore Kumar and Rahul Dev Burman. Since then, many music composers, singers, lyricists and film personalities have created a new ocean of music. Music in Hindi cinema, in songs or in the background score, in composition, lyrics, orchestration and performance has been the hallmark from the time Indian cinema broke the barrier of silence to step into sound.
